KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — Anti-crime activist S. Gobikrishnan just cannot wait for MIC’s T. Mohan to file a police report against him for publicly linking the politician to the local Indian underworld.
Rather than being cowed, the co-founder and adviser of crime watchdog group, MyWatch appeared unfazed and took the opportunity to say the move would pave the way for him to submit proof to back him claim.
“I welcome T.Mohan’s statement that he is going to lodge a report against me for accusing him of being the patron of Gang 36.
“I feel this will enable me to submit all evidences, including pictures and documents to the police,” Gobikrishnan said in a text message to The Malay Mail Online today.
He added that he will be meeting with Bukit Aman’s criminial investigation chief, Datuk Hadi Ho Abdullah, next week to talk more on the matter.
Gobikrisnan had drawn the MIC Youth chief’s ire with a series of Twitter messages on Thursday, accusing Mohan of being the patron of the Gang 36, led by one “Kajang Devan”, who was named an underworld figure in a government list released earlier this week in its war against crime.
The MyWatch man called on the police to arrest Mohan and investigate the latter for his alleged role in the gang.
He further claimed that Mohan’s Mercedes Benz had a car registration plate bearing the number “3060″, which is purportedly a secret identification code associated with the gang.
Mohan has in return, vowed to report Gobikrishnan for linking him to the notorious group.
The politician, a member of the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) is also said to be mulling legal action against Gobikrishnan and this news portal for reporting the latter’s tweets yesterday.
Despite repeated attempts since yesterday, The Malay Mail Online was not able to get in touch with Mohan.
However, he told the Free Malaysia Today news portal today: “I think Gobi is suffering from mental disorder. He should go and see a doctor.”
