Former Melaka chief minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said the condition for candidates wishing to contest Umno Supreme Council (MT) seats can be retained or relaxed.
“I leave it to the election committee and the candidates. For me, it can be retained or relaxed,” he said after presenting loans to five young entrepreneurs organised by Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) today.
Candidates wishing to contest Supreme Council seats must be former MT members or former members of division committees for at least one term.
At the event, Ali, who is also PUNB chairman invited youths to grab financing opportunities through online business, a first offered by PUNB.
He said RM163 million had been disbursed to 416 Bumiputra companies as loan to expand their business from January to September this year. – Bernama, September 29, 2013.
