Lindsay Lohan was reportedly frightened of Oprah Winfrey.
The American actress is set to have her own reality series on the talk show host’s OWN network next year.
While everything is now on schedule TMZ reports the only reason Lindsay is cooperating with Oprah is because she was left scared after the 59-year-old star paid her a visit to talk sense into her.
Oprah visited Lindsay at her mother Dina’s house in Long Island earlier this year and insisted she stop causing problems and turn up for filming or she would cancel the entire project. She also told the Mean Girls star she would not get her $ 2 million paycheck if she failed to compromise.
Sources told the gossip site Lindsay came up with numerous excuses to get out of the meeting, claiming she was apartment hunting in New York and blaming “miscommunications” between her people and OWN on her failed appearances for filming.
Oprah herself has spoken about the situation and described it as “chaotic” while trying to pin Lindsay down.
“There was a lot of chaos going on. So I went to have a conversation, a real conversation about that, to say to her, ‘Do you want to do it? Because if you don’t want to do it, that’s OK. We could just end it. We don’t have to do it,’” Oprah told Access Hollywood.
“I went to her house just to say, ‘What are you doing? Let’s get real here.’ And. ‘This is what’s conflicting about it.’ Because it’s television and we stand to gain if it does well. But the real truth is – and anybody who knows me, certainly my producers on the way there – Sheri Salata was in the car – I said, ‘If I get here and Lindsay isn’t serious, I will shut this thing down today.’”
