Victoria Beckham is apparently worried her celebrity status is taking its toll on her children.
The popstar-turned-designer is reportedly also worried that settling back into life in the UK, after moving from LA, is being made harder due to the family’s global fame.
Victoria and David’s oldest son Brooklyn, 14, was last week forced to shut down his account with controversial social networking site Ask.fm after being targeted by internet trolls.
“Victoria and David have always been extremely conscious of how their huge fame affects their children.
“They were disgusted Brooklyn had been targeted by online trolls. He was so upset when he was forced to shut down his account. They just want him to feel like a 14-year-old boy,” a source told British magazine Closer.
Victoria was recently quoted as saying that her personality was more suited to America.
But it also seems that she thinks the whole family, and their famous lifestyle, is better matched to Los Angeles living.
“While on holiday in LA, friends say Victoria commented on how much happier her boys seemed and how nice it was for them to be reunited with their friends – they seem to keep their anonymity better over there.
“In LA, there are celebs everywhere and the Beckham children don’t stand out being the offspring of a famous couple. But, in the UK, they feel there’s a huge deal made out of their parents’ celebrity status. It’s made Victoria wonder whether LA is a better base for family life,” the source continued.
