Miley Cyrus is “changing”, according to her stylist.
The American singer-and-actress made a drastic transformation when she cut her long hair off and dyed it blonde last year, opting for an edgier style.
With this alteration came a lot of criticism over her outfit choices, including a netted white dress with minimal coverage of her modesty underneath, which she wore in Las Vegas recently.
Miley’s stylist, Simone Harouche, has defended her muse’s ensembles and hit back at people who are surprised at her new look, insisting it is part of growing up.
“People wanna freak out and be like, ‘She’s changing!’” Simone says in a video for StyleHaul’s StyleCore. “Well, of course, she’s changing. What were you doing when you were 20?”
Simone has been with the 20-year-old star since her days in Disney show Hannah Montana and is proud of their work together. They teamed up for various ventures including Miley’s music videos for Party in the U.S.A and new track Wrecking Ball, which sees the singer swing naked on the destructive tool.
“[I love] looking back at the evolution of videos I’ve done with her,” Simone recalled. “She’s growing up and figuring stuff out. When I was 20, thank God I wasn’t televised and seen by the world.”
Miley previously insisted she is comfortable wearing simple and revealing outfits as she believes she can pull it off better than other girls her age.
She also admitted she brings along her own clothes to photoshoots, in case she doesn’t approve of any of the outfits chosen for her.
“I feel like every girl is trying to have a beauty shot and prove that they’re fashion,” she told the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “But I can be in white leggings and a white sports bra and I’m on a whole other level of sh*t that those girls don’t even get yet, because they don’t know how to do it. What if I get to a photoshoot and the stylist just sucks? So I bring my own sh*t.”
