An opposition lawmaker has urged the government to abolish Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s Permata Negara project for which a special allocation was granted under the 2013 Budget.
PKR’s Kapar Member of Parliament G. Manivanan said instead, the funds should be channelled towards upgrading the Kemas pre-schools run under the Rural and Regional Development Ministry.
“Permata does not seem to be have specific programmes which can benefit our children in the future,” he said.
The Permata Negara project, under the patronage of the prime minister’s wife, had received allocations of RM150 million in 2013, RM111 million in 2012 and RM100 million in 2011.
