18 Sep – Malaysian director James Wan’s horror feature film “The Conjuring” starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson has officially climbed to the top spot on the list of highest grossing horror films in Singapore.
The film beat great horror classics like M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Sixth Sense”, Singaporean-made “The Maid”, “The Eye”, and “Final Destination 4″. The films are currently in second, third, fourth and fifth place, respectively.
James Wan’s horror flick overtook “The Sixth Sense”, the record holder since 1999, with its impressive Box Office result of US$ 2,731,505.
“The Conjuring” stars Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga and Ron Livingston about Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren who work to help a family who have been terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse.
The film has been playing in cinemas since 2 August 2013, but will most likely end its run by next Wednesday, 25 September in Singapore.
